The International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition -Abu Dhabi 2009 (ADIHEX), held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club (EFC); will organise paintings and photography competitions to reflect art interests in heritage, falconry and horsemanship.
The competitions will run from September 30th to October 3rd as part of ADIHEX features.
“Organising such a competition aims to highlight the important role played by art in raising the environmental awareness and documenting equestrianism and falconry, which are a vital part of the region’s history and civilization,” said Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Director of ADIHEX.
“The exhibition also seeks to document our cultural, environmental and civil heritage to future generations and underline the importance of preserving the environment,” Qubaisi added.
The conditions of competition revolve around the subject of the artistic work in aspects of falconry, horsemanship or UAE heritage.
Al Qubaisi pointed out that the paintings should be framed to be ready for display as unframed works will be rejected, and that photos should be stored in a CD-ROM in JPEG format with a quality no less than 300 DPI.

The participating work will be handed back to the artists within seven days following the conclusion of the exhibition. Participants lose the right to claim back their works after the expiration of the seven-day period.
